2020 Toyota Sienna
The Sienna is back again as one of the most reliable and family-friendly minivans in the industry. Continuing its third generation, this classic vehicle introduces a new Nightshade edition, which features a blacked-out look with stylish trim. Owners of the Sienna praise it for its great multimedia features, comfortable cabin with three rows of seats, and smooth performance. Most notably, the ’20 Sienna sets itself apart from the competition as the only minivan sold in the U.S. that offers all-wheel drive. It also has an incredible amount of cargo volume, which allows you to store what you need for everything from hockey practice to road trips.
All Sienna models come standard with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine puts out 296 horsepower and 263 lb.-ft. of torque: plenty strong enough to power this family-sized vehicle. All trims also come standard with front-wheel drive but have all-wheel drive availability (except the L trim). Although it’s a sizeable vehicle, the Sienna still gets an impressive 19 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, for a combined 22 mpg.
The Sienna is available in five main trim levels (L, LE, SE, XLE, and Limited), but the SE, XLE, and Limited also offer Premium trim options. The base trim L starts off with 17-inch alloy wheels, tri-zone automatic climate control, automatic headlights, a conversation mirror, and tons of multimedia features, including Apple CarPlay and a large touchscreen display. Next up, the LE gets power-sliding rear doors, privacy glass, roof rails, easy-clean fabric upholstery, and heated mirrors. The SE ups performance through a sport-tuned suspension and 19-inch alloy wheels, which allows for more agile handling. It also adds a power liftgate, leather seating for the first two rows, and heated front seats. The SE Premium subtrim receives extra driver-assist features, a navigation system, a rear-seat entertainment system, an upgraded audio system, and a sunroof. The XLE shares the suspension of the LE, but it also gets push-to-start ignition, a power-adjustable front passenger seat, unique imitation-wood trim, and power-opening rear windows; the XLE Premium adds rear parking sensors. Next, the Limited receives 18-inch alloy wheels, power-folding and auto-dimming mirrors, two sunroofs, premium leather seating, and a heated steering wheel. Lastly, the Limited Premium subtrim adds xenon headlights, a surround-view parking camera system, automatic windshield wipers, and leather for the third row of seats.
Multimedia Technology and Safety
Toyota designed the Sienna as the perfect family vehicle, with abundant tech features for communication and entertainment. Even the base model gets a 7-inch touchscreen display with Toyota’s Entune technology, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth audio streaming, five USB ports, and a six-speaker audio system. Upgrading to the SE Premium gets you a premium JBL audio system for pristine sound quality, as well as Driver Easy Speak, which allows the driver’s voice to play through the rear speakers as an in-vehicle PA system. It also gets a rear-seat entertainment system.
All models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense, which includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and automatic headlights. Higher trim levels also get front and rear parking sensors and a surround-view parking camera system.
