Toyota Highlander Trim Levels

A trim level is basically a specific version of the model, offering unique features and abilities while still retaining the core values of the vehicle. For the Toyota Highlander, certain trims offer more in-cabin technology or exterior styling, while all are safe and reliable.

The standard trim is called the L and moving one trim up takes you to the LE. There are hybrid versions of many trims, too. So the next trim up from the LE is the Hybrid LE. You then have the XLE, Hybrid XLE, and XSE. The last trims include:

  • Limited
  • Hybrid Limited
  • Platinum
  • Hybrid Platinum

Interior Roominess

The Toyota Highlander is going to be a cushiony and enjoyable SUV to lounge about in no matter the row you’re occupying. You can look forward to plentiful cargo space, too.

To accommodate taller passengers, the SUV offers 42 inches of front legroom, 41 inches of middle row legroom, and 27.7 inches of legroom in the back. Thanks to a tall roof and lower seating floor, the highlander provides 41.2 inches of front headroom, 39.4 inches of middle row headroom, and 36.1 inches of rear headroom.

In all, you have as much as 141.3 cubic feet of total passenger volume to work with, enough to comfortably seat eight passengers.

Then you get to cargo room, which is plentiful:

  • 16 cubic feet of cargo behind the third row
  • 4 cubic feet of cargo behind the second row
  • 3 cubic feet of cargo behind the first row

Toyota Highlander Performance

With access to either a V6 engine or a hybrid motor, the Toyota Highlander can greatly change its performance personality. The 3.5L V6 generates a robust 295 horsepower to go with 263 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid is no slouch either, making 243 system net horsepower.

The drivetrain will be either a front-wheel drive setup, or, if you want, you can select from three unique all-wheel drive platforms. And for the transmission, it’s an 8-speed Electronically controlled Automatic or an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable setup with sequential shift mode.

The Toyota Highlander Awaits!

We think the more you explore the abilities and general personality of the Toyota Highlander, the more you’ll fall for the SUV. So give our reviews and comparisons a read. If you’re already sold on the Highlander, we can help you take the next step by booking a test drive at Harr Toyota!
