The first thing to talk about with the Toyota RAV4 is how varied the trim lineup is. Trim levels are the easiest way to secure the exact type of model you want. Each trim comes with its own set of features, and for the RAV4, the trim you pick will also determine your model’s performance.
The standard trim is the LE. There’s also an LE Hybrid. This is going to be a common theme throughout the trim list, with Toyota offering the RAV4 in their hybrid or non-hybrid form.
The next few trims would be the XLE, XLE Hybrid, XLE Premium, and XLE Premium Hybrid. From there you start to get into some of the more rugged versions of the model such as the Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims. Finally, the list finishes with the XSE Hybrid, Limited, and Limited Hybrid.
One of two available engines will power your Toyota RAV4, and the pair are quite similar. Each is a 2.5L, but one of them is a hybrid. The hybrid generates 219 combined system net horsepower and comes with Sport, Eco, Normal, EV, and Trail drive modes. The non-hybrid touts 203 horsepower, 184 lb-ft of torque, and comes with Sport, Eco, and Normal drive modes.
Your drivetrain will be either front-wheel drive or one of a few different all-wheel drive setups. And for the transmission, options include an 8-speed Electronically controlled Automatic or an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission.
